Chelsea
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and grew up in the church. My childhood was filled with music. My dad was our church’s music director, and my mom was very involved in singing and playing piano. I took piano, violin & voice lessons and sang in the Portland Symphonic Girls Choir at a young age. I started writing music and singing in worship and high school. At 16, I realized that God was personal and could be with me now and not just in heaven, and I felt the Holy Spirit for the first time. I went to Warner Pacific College, majored in voice, and was part of an intern scholarship program for my church. As soon as I graduated, I worked full time as the church music and programming director and taught piano lessons on the side. In 2008, I married Bob Barnes. He was a musician at the church where I worked. Outside of church, I enjoy performing, singing Jazz in bands, and dancing. I also like decorating, planning trips, thinking of creative ideas, and organizing. I’ve enjoyed my time at One H.O.P.E. Fellowship, getting to know the people and helping with worship.
